LOST ORCHARD CIDER
After discovering several 'lost' orchards still abundant with fruit, we learned that many of Georgian Bay's traditional orchards have been left abandoned - deemed no longer viable for commercial growers to harvest.
Many of these old growth orchards have rare and heirloom varieties which are perfectly suited to cider making. Our Lost Orchard ciders are a tribute to these orchards.
Just as growing conditions affect the flavour of fruit, climate and location affect the character of a cider. Among the various locations of the orchards where we harvest our apples, the soil and climate conditions are noticeably different. These factors introduce a new layer of complexity, which is defined by the location of the orchards. This idea of exploring Georgian Bay Terroir has inspired our Single Varietal and Single Orchard ciders.
